FRIENSHIP: Three Theoretical Paradigms
Structural-Functional: Friendship is an interpersonal relationship that helps an individual to function effectively in a certain environment like school. With friends, it is not hard to mingle with other people because we also find our friends as our comrades. We do not become afraid to get out of place when we have our friends. It seems that we are at our best when we are with them because we always get support from them.
Social- Conflict: Within a school campus, many groups of friends are establishes that depends on different characteristics of individuals. Friendship is basically established because of similarities and conflict is established because of difference. Peers with superiority complex would want to rule the school campus with their own beliefs. When a peer is against to another peer, the tendency is they become rational. The standard of an individual is also measured to whom he is friends with. If he is friends with the popular ones, then he becomes popular too and easily establishes himself as superior without further knowing him. People are practically judge by his friends.
Symbolic- Interaction: Friends are an interacting individual; the reason friendship is established is because of interaction. Friendship lasts because of its meaning or essence. Friends become united because they understand the meaning of being friends with one another. Friendship is also determined by symbols like having a friendship ring or other accessories. It is an interpersonal relationship.

PLAYING DOTA: Three Theoretical Paradigms
Structural Function We all know that structural function is a form of unity. For me the one example of this is Defense Of The Ancient or commonly known as DOTA. Based on my experience, in this game all the players are making their plan on how to defeat their enemy. These case, they are forming unity by cooperating and supporting with each other. They are playing as one or as a team.
Social Conflict In playing DOTA, there are problems or conflict that we are experience, like misunderstanding because we all know that each player has a unique technique on how to defeat their enemy. They have different tactics and strategy and because of their different tactics and strategy it can cause them to play with their own strategy, they will not act like as team or act as a one.
Symbolic Interaction Players of DOTA are an interacting individual simply because when they are making a strategy they are already interact with their co-players but sometimes it cause conflict and unity. Conflict when their strategy is different from others, and unity if their tactics are same they will act as one or act as a team. You will know if one person is playing dota by simply saying the word GG. Because GG means "Good Game" in dota. They will say the word GG if they are going to lose.

Basketball Game: Three Theoretical Paradigms
Structural Function In Basketball Team, being unite to each other is a great way to win a Basketball game. And it is clearly that by just simply play a team work in Basketball game, we will be able to produce a unity. It is how they make a good play through team work so they can defeat the other team and that is unity.
Social Conflict We all know that in playing Basketball we will encounter problems like misunderstanding the Play that the coach or the team created. In this case there is a conflict in the team. We know that people has different social life and has a different skills. And they have different way to play Basketball which causes the conflict of a player to a player.
Symbolic Interaction Players in Basketball game has different behavior and attitudes in playing this game. There's a play maker, scorer and most specially a ball hogger. A scorer is the one what people's like and a ball hogger is the one which people hates. For me scorer and a ball hogger is the same, because you can't be a Scorer if you are not a ball hogger. You will know if a player is good through hes experience and how he make a play in the game because he unites with he's team mates and can easily adapt to other players.
One of the common aspects of life is work; it can be a career or a job. I will use the word job, as everyone needs it. When we say ‘job’, it is a post of employment, a piece of work, especially a specific task done as part of the routine of one’s occupation or for an agreed price and an affair. JOB: Three Theoretical Paradigms in Action.
Structural Function: The function of job provides unity for society. In each workplace, the people learn to help each other in order to accomplish their tasks. They are able to share talents and make friends at the same time. This can pursue dreams and goals, and promotes success in life. Social Conflict: On the other side, conflicts exist, including the job position, gender, racial, skills, and so on. When it comes to job, there are always inequalities or discrimination. We can’t avoid these problems, as it goes naturally. Symbolic Interaction: Lastly, interacting or communicating in people gives experience and new learning to each individual that makes changes. People act in many ways to deals with different persons.
Job is anywhere and everyone can involve into it. The three theoretical paradigms are really applicable in this example.

FAMILY: Three Theoretical Paradigms
Structural-Functional
The social structures of family create deep social and emotional bonds among the family itself.
The mother and father of the family will support each other financially, socially, emotionally and physically and are driven to achieve by socially defined expected standards of married life. Families provide the same systems of support for all their members, creating healthy environments and opportunities for individual growth for individuals not capable of supporting themselves and their children’s.
Social-Conflict Paradigm
The Social-Conflict paradigm in family, members will compete for limited resources such as power, time, affection, privilege, material items, money, food and such. These things/characteristics can cause a family conflict.
Symbolic-Interaction Paradigm
As a children interact with their parents and other family members we learn language and the social meanings attached to a certain word. Also how we communicate and treat with others it will depend on how we are raised by our parents and their beliefs.
Business: Three Theoretical Paradigms in Action The functions of Business: A process or operation that is performed routinely to carry out a part of the mission of an organization. In business people will meet and deal with many people and different kinds of races and this function will make them become one and this will lead them to unity. Business or trading was the cause of why people travel all over the world to trade their items and made them unite with each other and up until now most of them are partners in trade till today.
Social Conflict: in business there is always conflict in it, these includes the racial, gender, skills, items to be trade, pride, money and many more. Many people involved in business and most of the time, they encountered problems, and they have to take risks in order to generate their business. The conflict is not just on the business itself, but also on the people around you.
Symbolic Interaction: if you are in the line of business, then many people are involved to you, you have a lot of chances to interact with different persons and personality. As you interact with them many opportunities will come to your way, including new experience, ideas and friends.
Llanes, Marc Kristian A. (201010150 BSCE) SOCI103 – V25 PLAYING BASKETBALL: Three Theoretical Paradigms
Structural Function We will be playing a five on five-basketball game. It would all start on a simple shooting and strangers will just come and join. When the players are enjoying their selves, some would ask the others if they would want to play a five on five game and after several minutes groups will be formed and they will start playing basketball as a group. Social Conflict As the game basketball occurs, the players will be more into the game as time pass. Each and every one of them will do their own moves and be competitive against the opposing team. When the opposing team is winning the other team will start communicating with each other to get back in the game and win it. That’s when the social paradigm occurs. Symbolic-interaction This is the stage when the players are applying what they planned on order to win the game. This is the result of an effective communication that they made. This is the will show if your plan is effective or not.
Structural-function. Religion can unite people from different parts of the world. Because of religion everybody believes on the same thing, that there is the existence of God. We go to church for one reason and that is to satisfy our hungry souls with God's word and blessings.
Social-conflict. We may believe that there is the existence of God, but we never get united through religion we get united when we seek for God when call out God's name. In a religion we have many beliefs, furthermore most people are focusing on who's better or right, which church has the most number of members, which of the church is bigger and brings in most money. We merely forgot the sight of what is important, God and His will not only for the church but also for the members of His church.
Symbolic-interaction. Each religion has its own way to worship, give thanks to God and to end a prayer. Catholics make the sign of the cross, Muslims bow down, and Christians saying the word in "Jesus name. Amen" and there are lot of ways on how a religion pray.

ARTS: Three Theoretical Paradigms
The Function of Arts (Structural-Functional Paradigm)
Art promotes the freedom to express what the artist wants to show to his or her audience. In an art exhibit, each artist contributes an individual artwork to form the theme selected to show for their audience. They have their artwork as a masterpiece that contributes to the whole meaning of the theme selected in the art exhibit. Artists are united to show their own point of view with regards to the main theme.
Art and Conflict (Social-Conflict Paradigm)
Art competitions shows differences in their superiority regarding the skills needed to do an artwork. In an art competition, they have to categorize the competitions according to the concept, method, and mastery of skills to avoid conflict when evaluating the artworks. Art is a vast idea which certainly creates a conflict when there are no rules defined in a competition. Every artist has a different perception and method to express. Thus, an artwork cannot be directly compared to another artwork without limiting the subject.
Art as Interaction (Symbolic-Interactionism Paradigm)
The individual perceptions of an artist concerning the reality is unique to each other. Every artist has a different point of view and experiences towards reality and society they lived in. Every artwork they make is unique as one person perceives and expresses differently from one another. A certain artist may be or may not be exposed to different concepts of art and interacts with different people that may affect their style as an artist. Art is also an ongoing process since it continually evolves as the human mind explores other ideas or concepts. Each artist can interact and get other ideas from that person or artist that can contribute to his or her future artworks.
Structural Function: In investigating or figuring out what happened in a certain thing, all of the members of the investigator's party should cooperate with each other. like brainstorming, analyzing, etc. In this case, they could carry out a detailed examination or inquiry, especially in order to find out about something or somebody.
Social-Conflict: In this part, there will be problems and circumstances to encounter just like arguing their ideas with each other, lack of evidences, and sometimes it could come up to nothing. Every individual has their own unique ideas. You'll never know what are they thinking or what they will gonna do.
Symbolic Interaction: in every happening, there is really interaction. In this part, the investigators build their ideas and solve the scene successfully, simply because they are interacting in terms of shared meanings, ideas, and symbols.
Day by day, these paradigms gives us a perspective to know more and to understand deeper to our society.
In playing Dota especially in 5v5 Captain mode game, each person has his/her job in playing the game, there are hitters and support, the hitters job is to kill while support is to support, their job does not overlap each other but they work as one in unity to beat the opponent.
Social conflict since each player has different playing style, means each player has their own way of assessing a situation, in this case the team cooperation would be in shambles.if one of the member failed to do his task it would make it difficult to win.
Symbolic interaction in playing dota especially in 5v5 captain mode before you play you will usually see people who are good at playing would always be with somebody who is also good at playing because usually these games are played as "pustahan" , so people who's afraid to lose money would always pick the best players in their arsenal to play.
Playing COUNTER STRIKE: Three Theoretical Paradigms
Structural-Functional Paradigm: when my friends and I play this game, we unite as a group. This game is played by dividing the players into two groups. The counter-terrorists, and the terrorists. both team have to unite and make their own strategy to win the round.
Social Conflict: the conflict in this game is when your team mates doesn’t cooperate with your teams plan. You see, every person have his/her own way of winning. So instead of them to stick to what the team has planned, they make their own way to rule against their team mate’s points. They think of their own standings instead of the teams standings.
Symbolic Interaction: when each team unites, at the same time they interact with each other. Without interaction between them, they wont succeed in the game. Interaction happens simply when they communicate with their team to form their plans.
1. Structural – Functional Paradigm The function of politics provides unity for society. In every country, provinces, cities, municipalities and barangays the people in the government learn to help each other in order to accomplish a project that everyone will benefit. For example, the president decided to provide education for the children of the family, which in turn pays taxes on which the state depends to keep itself running. That is, the family is dependent upon the school to help children grow up to have good jobs so that they can raise and support their own families. In the process, the children become law-abiding, taxpaying citizens, who in turn support the state. If all goes well, the parts of society produce order, stability, and productivity. If all does not go well, the parts of society then must adapt to recapture a new order, stability, and productivity.
2. Social – Conflict Paradigm In politics, unequal groups usually have conflicting values and agendas, causing them to compete against one another. This constant competition between groups forms the basis for the ever-changing nature of society. Politics are among the most ancient, enduring, and consequential sources of conflict, as they determine how power will be distributed among people, including over life and death, wealth and poverty, independence and obedience. Conflicts concerning these issues have shaped the ways we have interacted as humans over the centuries. In politics it is hard to determine who are true to you and who really your friends are.
3. Symbolic – Interaction Paradigm Every politician has a different point of view, experiences and agendas. Each politician must interact and get ideas on what the people want because they are public servant. Verbal conversations, in which spoken words serve as the predominant symbols, make this subjective interpretation evident. The words have a certain meaning for the “sender,” and, during communication, they hopefully have the same meaning for the “receiver.” In other terms, words are not static “things”, they require intention and interpretation. Conversation is an interaction of symbols between individuals who constantly interpret the world around them. Anything can serve as a symbol as long as it refers to something beyond itself.
While playing basketball especially when the game turns to intense or it becomes crucial so the players will have a plan to get an easy score, in that situation you will encounter the unity of each player by means of giving some point of views to turn a point, there is a saying that “Divided We Stand, UNITED We fall !” I myself may say that this saying is true because all players will contribute to the team until they make a score and finish the game very proud win or lose.
Social Conflict:
In playing basketball it is not easy to make an team play because sometimes we are encountering some conflicts especially when players has an attitude of a selfish play in playing basketball in that case it will have a conflict to the team, coach, audiences, and players, but to avoid that we simply support our teammate in doing his own way of playing basketball, because all people has their own way to get an easy shot.
Symbolic Interaction:
In basketball team, players have different attitudes and skills in playing basketball, the defensive player, the offensive player, the supportive player, and the playmaker, the defensive player is the one who is responsible when the opponent is on offense they will lead you to get the ball easily from the opponent, the offensive player is the one who will get a score but before getting a score he must unite first to his teammates before he get his objectives, the most important player is the Playmaker because he is the one who is responsible for the unity of their teammates and he is the one who will make a plan or so called a play, being playmaker is hard especially if you have a teammate who is not paying attention to your plan, the playmaker should unite his team to get a point.
Structural Function: religion concerns the role of religion in society: practices, historical backgrounds, developments and universal themes. There is particular emphasis on the recurring role of religion in all societies and throughout recorded history. The sociology of religion is distinguished from the philosophy of religion in that it does not set out to assess the validity of religious beliefs, though the process of comparing multiple conflicting dogmas may require what Peter L. Berger has described as inherent "methodological atheism". Whereas the sociology of religion broadly differs from theology in assuming indifference to the supernatural, theorists tend to acknowledge socio-cultural reification of religious practice.
Social Conflict: because of many religions, we also have many different religious beliefs; one of the conflict in religion is the faith wars or the conflict about the religous belief of every religion on who is there God or their "creator", especially between the Christianity and Islam; beacause both are really opposite.
Symbolic Interaction: Religion can be understood in terms of either its practice or its propositional content. With respect to its practice, religious systems generally prescribe certain behaviors, rituals, rites, and celebrations that their adherents are, at least in some respect, expected to observe. In following these practices, members of a religion are united in a rhythm shared by all and only those who are fellow practitioners. In that sense there is an outwardly recognizable aspect to religion, and in that sense religion is clearly distinct from science, which prescribes no such ritual behavior. But it is not in the common celebrations and rites that science and religion are seen to conflict: it is in their propositional content instead.
Badminton is one of the most popular sports in the world and has been around for a very long time. I found interesting in badminton when I am grade 3 student. This game is played by single or doubles, but i like to play doubles. You and your partner must cooperate and make your own decision and strategy how to defeat your opponent. Teamwork is the best idea to achieve your goal.
Social Conflict:
In every game we should all know that there have a time we will encountered misunderstanding and problems. For the sake of the team you must solve this immediately to continue your winning plan. Because if one of the member should not cooperate or follow the winning plan it can’t help your team to win this competetion.
Symbolic Interaction:
Each partner move in many ways but this is the time that each member should play as one and every movements of each other count on there goal. Working together is a good way with your partner that give you a good communication and a better teamwork.
Structural Function In a Basketball Team, being united to each other is the key to win this ball game. And you cannot win if you don’t have teamwork, we can able to defeat our enemy if our team is playing as one and united
Social Conflict many basketball teams encounter misunderstanding in players in coach even in the staffs because we have different attitudes and different roles so we must talk to each other so we can make things better
Symbolic Interaction many players in basketball has different role one is the point guard the point guard set for the team second is the shooting guard the shooting guard’s role is to go directly to the basket the small forward helps the power forward in rebounding’s the power forward helps the center to rebound also the center role is to defend the basket from the other to shoot
Structural Function- In Basketball Team, teamwork is a great way to win each game in Basketball. we will be able to produce a unity, if they not applied the teamwork they never win the game.
Social Conflict- Not all player has a same skills when comes to basketball, this is a sample that can cause conflict in a game, when a player misunderstand the play of her team mate.
Symbolic Interaction- Different player and different skills, some player are point guard, guard and center, but the most important is the experience. To create a good play and a good game.

POLITICS: THREE THEORETICAL PARADIGMS
STRUCTURAL-FUNCTIONAL PARADIGM: As we all know, politics is a process by which groups of people make collective decisions. It is generally applied to the art or science of running governmental or state affairs. By this, we can say that in politics, every people regardless of its position plays an important role in performing its own function beacuse all in all, it could be assumed that everyone do take part in the practice of politics, one way or the other. It is characterized as an act that points out the issues that appear to be significant in a society. Basically, it points out whether a specific situation is indeed a problem and eventually presents how it could have an effect on the society or community as a whole.
SOCIAL-CONFLICT PARADIGM: Politics is history, and history is politics. they can be interchanged because of a common reason which is due to conflict of having a hierarchy in the society. In politics, the level of a person's position is a big deal because the higher position a person has, the greater power he or she enjoys. On the other hand, the person having the lower position has a lesser power to enjoy. Moreover, in politics, there is always two major social groups: a ruling class and a subject class. The ruling class derives its power from its ownership and control of the forces of production. The ruling class exploits and oppresses the subject class. As a result, there is a basic conflict of interest between the two classes.
SYMBOLIC-INTERACTION PARADIGM: In politics, communication is essential. Politicians with different experiences and interpretations on certain issues must interact with one another to come up with one concrete decision that is morally good and beneficial for the public.

RELIGION: THREE THEORETICAL PARADIGMS
STRUCTURAL-FUNCTIONAL PARADIGM: Religion is collection of cultural systems, and belief systems. Religion is perhaps one of the key components that unite different nations in the world, since the time of the Jesus up to the twentieth century. The society unites based on religious belief. A good example of this in micro level is before a family of group of people eat their meal, they pray to bless the food they have. In macro level, it occurs in the Sunday Mass or any religious activity that the church organized. The said examples can also observed in other religions.
SOCIAL-CONFLICT PARADIGM: Religion is not it without conflict. Throughout the history of religion, there has been violence. Charles Selengut states that “The history and scriptures of the world’s religion tell stories of violence and war as they speak of peace and love.” Conflicts have occurred for one religion to secure domination to another religion, such as during the time of the Crusades when the Islam and Christianity fought for Jerusalem, the Holy City. The most recent is during the Nazi extermination of the Jews since they believe that the Jews were inferior. In small scale, social-conflict occurs when one discriminate the belief or tradition of another religion, meaning inequality occurs, therefore there is no unity in the society.
SYMBOLIC-INTERACTION PARADIGM: Symbolic-Interaction has been always with religion. Religion uses a language of symbols; each religion today has their own symbols that represent its beliefs. The Holy Cross for example, is the most symbolic of all religion symbols, it symbolize the sacrifice and love of Jesus Christ for his people. The society understands and unites to each other with the help of this symbols.
Finding yourself Structural Functional Finding yourself is a structure needed up to be build not just for your own sake but for the people you’re mingling with. It is a step to be able to reach you own happiness. Social Conflic How will you start or what particular process do you need to undergo, to be able to determine yourself. Symbolic interaction It is interacting with the people that surrounds you. When you interact with them, you can be with who you are. The peoples’ reaction can simply define yourself.
STRUCTURAL-FUNCTIONAL: Sturctural-functional is unity. Religion can unite people because they believe in one God. Unity is important it will make the community to move as one.
SOCIAL-CONFLICT: There are also conflict in religion because of many beliefs their will be conflict. people get confused on what is right and wrong belief. because of many religion today many people didn't know what is correct.
SYMBOLIC-INTERACTION: Because of interaction religion is build. It became more bigger because everyone is moving to make it more bigger. everyone has a role to do.

Falling in love
Structural Functional
Falling in love is what each and every person’s desires. If you loved someone, you couldn’t let lies come between you. No matter what happened - even if you’d already lost each other forever - you owed each other the truth. True love is eternal, infinite, and always like itself. It is equal and pure, without violent demonstrations: it is seen with white hairs and is always young in the heart. It also structure needed up to be built not just for our own sake but for the people you’re mingling with. It is a step to be able to reach you own happiness. And in real love you want the other person's good. In romantic love you want the other person in unconditional love.
Social Conflict
We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee. In dwelling, live close to the ground. In thinking, keep to the simple. In conflict, be fair and generous. In governing, don't try to control. In work, do what you enjoy. In family life, be completely present. And mankind must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.
Symbolic interaction
Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love and interact with the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would most likely be worth it. And when we got a once in a life time to interact, it will never be forever but it’s the only beginning to make are one shot real.

We will be playing a five on five-basketball game. It would all start on a simple shooting and strangers will just come and join. When the players are enjoying their selves, some would ask the others if they would want to play a five on five game and after several minutes groups will be formed and they will start playing basketball as a group.
Social Conflict
As the game basketball occurs, the players will be more into the game as time pass. Each and every one of them will do their own moves and be competitive against the opposing team. When the opposing team is winning the other team will start communicating with each other to get back in the game and win it. That’s when the social paradigm occurs.
Symbolic-interaction
This is the stage when the players are applying what they planned on order to win the game. This is the result of an effective communication that they made. This is the will show if your plan is effective or not.

RELIGION (Three theoretical framework)

Investigating a certain scene:
Structural Function:
In investigating or figuring out what happened in a certain thing, all of the members of the investigator's party should cooperate with each other. like brainstorming, analyzing, etc. In this case, they could carry out a detailed examination or inquiry, especially in order to find out about something or somebody.
Social-Conflict:
In this part, there will be problems and circumstances to encounter just like arguing their ideas with each other, lack of evidences, and sometimes it could come up to nothing. Every individual has their own unique ideas. You'll never know what are they thinking or what they will gonna do.
Symbolic Interaction:
in every happening, there is really interaction. In this part, the investigators build their ideas and solve the scene successfully, simply because they are interacting in terms of shared meanings, ideas, and symbols.
Day by day, these paradigms gives us a perspective to know more and to understand deeper to our society.

Playing Dota ALSO hehehe
Structural Function
In playing Dota especially in 5v5 Captain mode game, each person has his/her job in playing the game, there are hitters and support, the hitters job is to kill while support is to support, their job does not overlap each other but they work as one in unity to beat the opponent.
Social conflict
since each player has different playing style, means each player has their own way of assessing a situation, in this case the team cooperation would be in shambles.if one of the member failed to do his task it would make it difficult to win.
Symbolic interaction
in playing dota especially in 5v5 captain mode before you play you will usually see people who are good at playing would always be with somebody who is also good at playing because usually these games are played as "pustahan" , so people who's afraid to lose money would always pick the best players in their arsenal to play.

Politics: Three Theoretical Paradigms
1. Structural – Functional Paradigm
The function of politics provides unity for society.
2. Social – Conflict Paradigm
In politics, unequal groups usually have conflicting values and agendas, causing them to compete against one another.
3. Symbolic – Interaction Paradigm
Every politician has a different point of view, experiences and agendas.

Basketball Game: Three Theoretical Paradigms
Structural Function:

RELIGION: 3 theoretical paradigm

Playing Badminton: Three Theoretical Paradigms
Structural-Functional Paradigm:

POLITICS: THREE THEORETICAL PARADIGMS
STRUCTURAL-FUNCTIONAL PARADIGM:
As we all know, politics is a process by which groups of people make collective decisions.
SOCIAL-CONFLICT PARADIGM:
Politics is history, and history is politics. they can be interchanged because of a common reason which is due to conflict of having a hierarchy in the society.
SYMBOLIC-INTERACTION PARADIGM:
In politics, communication is essential. Politicians with different experiences and interpretations on certain issues must interact with one another to come up with one concrete decision that is morally good and beneficial for the public.

RELIGION: THREE THEORETICAL PARADIGMS
STRUCTURAL-FUNCTIONAL PARADIGM:
Religion is collection of cultural systems, and belief systems.
SOCIAL-CONFLICT PARADIGM:
Religion is not it without conflict.
SYMBOLIC-INTERACTION PARADIGM:
Symbolic-Interaction has been always with religion.
Finding yourself

How will you start or what particular process do you need to undergo, to be able to determine yourself.

It is interacting with the people that surrounds you. When you interact with them, you can be with who you are. The peoples’ reaction can simply define yourself.

Sturctural-functional is unity. Religion can unite people because they believe in one God. Unity is important it will make the community to move as one.
SOCIAL-CONFLICT:
There are also conflict in religion because of many beliefs their will be conflict. people get confused on what is right and wrong belief. because of many religion today many people didn't know what is correct.
