    The faux hawk hairstyle(mohawk hair)

During my first year highschool,i sported a faux hawk hair(its putting all your hair in the middle, search google for reference). Then others told me its weird, its not that good, its funny. But 5years later, this faux hawk hairstyle is one of the famous hairdos in our country. When my former classmates and i meet,i said,"I wore that kind of hairstyle way back. Im ahead of our time".

During my fourth year college at Centro escolar university i suffered from stroke because of Arteriovenous malformation or AVM is an abnormal connection between veins and arteries, usually congenital. This pathology is widely known because of its occurrence in the central nervous system, but can appear in any location.

I thought i was going to die, i lose hope.i pray to God asking to give me strength and hope. I survived, God gave me second life. even i'm a catholic after what happened i prove to my self that God is real and God is always there, somewhere. =D

    Hip-hop (Crips Vs. Bloods)

back then, i was in a gang in our town. i liked to were some big clothes, wear bling bling and all that kind of stuff. it was so "baduy" that time because the famous genre that time was EMO or Punks or whatever they want to call it. then i quit that fashion and suddenly want to be normal. but after a couple of years, the hip hop again rise and all of a sudden all youngsters and teenagers go with the flow.

  4. ALLEGORY OF THE CAVE by Cris S. Flores
Confusion, ignorance and uncertainty are the things that talks about Allegory of the cave. It is a state of mind that individual might know from their knowledge and partial ideas, imagination & examples of each things that surrounds them. As Plato said that everybody should live accordingly and we can do this by making, doing and knowing things right.
I will describe the concept of allegory on some of my experiences like believing the elders on their supertitious beliefs without getting the proof of its truthfulness. I am truly uncertain with it . Beliefs like not to cut finger nails on the evening or simply when the sun goes down. As an act of obedience, I usually follow them even if I don’t know the reasons behind it. Another belief is that , I should not get onto bed while my hair is wet because it may cause me to have a poor vission. Because of the fear of bad results , I do follow them yet I am still ignorant on the connection of sleeping while hair is wet and the poor visson that I could get. I have many experiences in the “Cave” and I have a memorable one. It was near Christmas and we usualy prepare socks to hang on the windows because I believe that Santa Clause would come and place a gift on it. That was an idea registered on my mind as Mom input it to me. I’ve came in the place of confusion that leads me to ask my mom if Santa is really sending gifts. “Is he going to wake me up to give those gifts to me?”, I wondered. Mom answered “He will not wake you up but he will come to give you gifts, so don’t wake up late tomorrow”. “Yes mommy”, I replied. In relation to this Christmas tradition I have encountered one funny Christmas when I found a sock that I hanged full of unions and garlic. I was just surprised when I openned it early in the morning and I’ve found out that my uncle placed there.
In behalf of those imaturities, ignorance and foolishness in believing that Santa is there I came to know the truth. The truth that my Mom and neighboors were just the one putting the gifts on the socks. Its bad to cut nails on the evening due to poor light that could cause our fingers to be wounded. Its not just proper to sleep while hair is wet because it feels very uncomfortable and besides, it will leave the pillows wet.:-)
I believe that wrong beliefs will confine us to the things that are not really true or existing

My personal experience about the allegory of the cave when i was a elementary student,my mother told me to stop riding in a bike because it's only for boys and it's dangerous.I'm not listening to my mother.Until one day my mother went to market, and i followed her using my bike. Then after that we went home.there's a stair before we reached our home. When my mother went down,i rode with my bike until i reached the top of the stairs. And i forgot there's no break in it.I fell down and hit the tree. Then i suddenly get up and pretending nothing happened to me.When i went home my mother ask me what happened to me.I said I'm fine it was nothing. But the truth is my whole body hurts especially my arms and legs.I didn't tell it because i know she will scolded me.At night i went sick and my mother ask me what's wrong. Then i told her everything, then she cold a "manghihilot".And after a week,i feel better and i swear to myself i never ride a bike again.

Back when i was in high school. Every end of school year, our school will elect new officers for the Student Council. I decided to run as the Secretary of Sports and Culture and my classmates support me about that thing, because as this events comes my some classmates and I planned what position we where gonna run or apply. As I got home, I gave the letter to my mom, a letter that will be signed by them that will give me the permit to run in the election. After an hour my sister saw the letter then she told me that, why i am so confident to join in that kind of election and she asked me how sure i am to win it,but i just smiled at her then ignored her. Before i go to bed, i keep on thinking what she have said and i doubted and my confidence was lessen. As i wake up I just thought i can do it so i continue it and passed my papers. The election was ended and unexpectedly I became a member of Student Council I became the Assistant Secretary of Sports and Culture. Sometimes there are people that will pull and crush me to the ground but at the end of the day, its still my choice that matters weigh on to. Its not about how others look at me and how they look and believe in my abilities, its about how do I look and believe in myself, in my abilities.

As I sit down, through the misty cold night, plain emotion in my face then suddenly turned to smile realizing how stupid I am jumping in the window thought that my sister was running after me. That was when I’m 2years old if I am not mistaken.=)
I relate my own experience to Plato’s Allegory which gives emphasis to Reality. As I jump in the window, I really don’t know what will happen to me. From the second floor of our house, expected that I will earn wounds and injuries but then thank God I am safe, neither wounds nor injuries. Being a child is the stage I like the most, because on this stage you experience a lot of things that will build you as a better person. Preparing you in the reality of life that might change your perception and at the same time hurt you too. On my case, I jump because that was I knew was right to do. The reality of life is that I didn’t know that I might die of what I’ve done.

My personal experience about the allegory of the cave when i was in high school. Everytime my teacher gave an assignment or seatwork I always depend to my classmates answers. Even though i know how to answer it, I still wrote their answers. Then after we checked our papers, i just knew that my solution and answer was correct but i didn't write it because i was afraid and not confident in my own answer. But now i learned from it, that before i reach my dreams i should first believe in myself. That i should have confident in what i am doing, because its always up to me on how im going to run my life. But i know i should listen to others like friends, family and of course God.

My personal experience about the allegory of the cave happened way back on my elementary days I was so amazed to my brother playing taekwondo, so I told my dad to enrolled me to the gym where my brother trained but my dad don’t want me to joined because he don't want to see me crying because of pain and another reason is he think I could not play similar to my brother. I always asked his permission to join, but one day he think I’d really like to play, he enrolled me but one thing he don't want, I will never compete in any competition, so I said yes. I trained hard every day. When I was in 3rd yr. high school I realized that, how could I applied the techniques I learned if I didn't try to compete. That time my dad was here in manila, I decided to join in the competition. On the day of the event I was surprised and I felt nervous because my dad will arrived, and when he got home he asked my me why I'm not in school, so I told him that I will compete, then he got mad to me and immediately went to their bedroom . When I won in my 4 games and I will be participated in national game I was very happy and I received a text message from my dad, he congratulated me and he said, he could not believe in my ability and confident . I should believe in myself that I can do such thing, that other people may not see yet, just to proved them that they are wrong.

My personal experience about the allegory of the cave is when I told my cousin that using weed or smoking some weeds will be dangerous to his health, but he did not tolerate what I am saying and still insist to smoke weed and he became addicted to it. Until one day, he gain some sickness like contious cough, cold and he looses his weight. Now, he stop to smoke weeds and change his life to live happily and become a responsible person.

My personal experience about the allegory of the cave was when I told my friends that we will have a quiz in higher surveying. They didn't believe me so they just play dota than to review their notes before the quiz. I review my notes in the library than to play dota and when the results of the quiz was given, i passed that quiz but my friends who play dota got a failing grade. If they believe me, they will pass that quiz in surveying.

My personal experience about the allegory of the cave was when I told to my friend jake that wearing the long sleeves shirt is prohibited in FEU- EAC. Then he did not believe me and he enters in the main building wearing his long sleeves shirt than wearing the uniform, so the guard stop jake and get his id because he commit a violation because of the shirt.

One day he was at an accident luckily for him he got away only with bruises and scratches. After that accident he change his attitude towards driving and become responsible.

My personal experience of the allegory of the cave. When I was in my 4th yr highschool. After class I don't go home early even though my parents are paying a school service for me. I usually hang out with my friends. We always have our drinking session every weekend and on weekdays we usually play computer games or billiards. Until one night my parents confronted me and asked where do i go after class and why am i not doing HW's or studying when i get home. I always tell them that i don't have HW's and that i am studying at school that's why i usually go home late. Until I received my 2nd qtr grade i failed in one of my subjects. and as usual my mother got angry at me. So i promised my self to strive better and study hard for the next sem. the next day i go straight to our home after class and started reading books and reviewing my lesson. 3rd qtr i passed all my subjs. and found out that i am included in top 10 in the class. After that i've learned my lesson that if we do our best and put efforts on it we will be happy and very satisfied of the result that we are going to get.

My personal experience of the allegory of the cave. When I my friend fell in love with the guy I don't like for her, because he was a player. My friend is a person that is easy to fall. I told her not to allow to court her because of the attitude of the guy, but my friend didn't listen to me. She and the guy went to a relationship. Then one day my friend called me and she was crying. She told me that guy cheated on her. After that she is not an easy to fall person, for her to not be hurt again.

The allegory of the cave signifies the learning we can get in life. It is more than the word education itself. It’s not just on how you acquire knowledge but much on how you are willing to acquire it and use it for good.

Once in our life, we are all like the prisoners. We know nothing. We are all lost in a world of nonsense. We don't care if there is something existing. All we care about was ourselves. We just breathe without purpose. But as time goes on, things come to us in a natural way. These things are quite hard to understand. It gives us the natural tendency to search for meanings. It doesn't literally mean that we just acquire the wisdom. After acquiring the wisdom, a lot more step on the process must be followed. We must apply what we've learned. We must put it into action so others may follow. By then, it is a way of sharing. As we continue to explore the world, many new things are yet to be developed. Much new wisdom is yet to be achieved.

Like the prisoners, we sometimes doubt the opportunity that comes to us and leave it like its nothing. We struggle to get back to our old "US" since we cannot stand the pain that reality brings. Education brings about the reality of the world. We tend to leave all those struggles and just put ourselves to our comfort zones. Like the prisoners, as much as their eyes hurts when they see the light, our hearts also hurts to see the vague bitter world of reality we are in. But as we continue on the journey, we come to realize that things are like that and at some point or another, we will meet people who will be with us in the journey. We will see more different things. More beautiful that we thought it is.

My "allegory of the cave" has something to do with my faith in the existence and to God Himself. All my life, I have known Jesus Christ, probably because of the influence of my parents who were genuine Bible-believing Christians. I know that God does exist and that's a fact.

Until one day, in my first year in college, I met this friend who, according to him, was an "agnostic atheist." We always had time to talk--talk that often turns into an argument. To make the long story short, his ideas greatly shook my beliefs. This was evident, in that, even though I play in the Praise and Worship team in our church, my heart was somehow not right. It's as if my mind was about to blow because of the ideas that kept on confusing me. Then one time, when I became too weary, I firmly told myself, THERE IS NO GOD.

But I thank God because He never let go of me. A part of me kept on saying that there is no God but a part of me just can't let go--seeing God's unfailing goodness in our family, in my church, in my LIFE. Here, I've learned to make my faith my own--to discover on my own--and not simply believe in what others say. I realized and learned that you can only know God to the fullest through experiencing Him. How can you know that He is powerful when you don't even allow Him to work in and through your life? Without God, there would be disorder. But as you look around, there is order--from the atoms to the planets. This made me come up with his question: How will you know if God does really exist if you are too lazy to exert effort to search for Him?

*God speaks to people who take time to listen.

my personal experience about the allegory of the cave.....

i still remembered back when i was new in college, year 2009 ...my cousin,i and her friend had a (tambay session)near the condo of my cousin's bf,..,while waiting for my cousin's bf her friend take some smoke because she's too bored waiting for my cousin's bf,when suddenly my cousin is so(inggit sa pagyoyosi nung friend niya )because she didn't know smoke.my cousin beg to her friend to her how smoke, but before she teach my cousin i told my cousin not to take the smoking seriously ,just take it as a experience .,.so on and so forth time goes by when my cousin learned how to smoke she take smoking regularly as a habit every of her life...time goes by, when one day my cousin is pregnant and one of the problem is her smoking ...that day during the check up the doctor told my cousin to stop smoking because sooner or later smoking can be a major problem to the baby and told my cousin that if she didn't stop smoking the baby could be abnormal...so my suddenly stop smoking little by little...
from that day up to this day my cousin is so responsible about her health

My personal experience on Plato's Allegory of the Cave:
When i was in elementary i was really proud of myself because i was always on the honor roll even though i don't study much and that went to my head. When i got to grade 6 i started playing computer games but i wasn't really worried because i always thought that i don't really need to study much. After that my grades started going down. i asked my classmate(Chris) why he's top 1 in the honor roll even though he plays computer games as much as we do he just said that he still gives time to study when he gets home. I realized being smart is not the only thing you need you also need patience and hard work.
In similarity to the allegory, i can say that the chains are the games that i play and the shadows is the illusion that myself, being smart, is perfect

I think I made all of my vices, drinking alcohol, start smoking, digging some friends, lying with my parents according with my allowance just to play computer games. Now im 20 years old but still im waiting for the day that i will graduate.

I learned that all of my vices will not give me success in life.

Back when I was still in highschool, I always thought that life in college will be also easy like highschool. But I was proved wrong after entering college. Life in college is different since this is the period that you start to shoulder bigger and heavier responsibilities. You also start to prioritize important things because this is the stage where you enter adulthood. Bigger decisions are also experienced and made during this stage in life.

My personal experience on Plato's Allegory of the Cave was before I transferred in FEU. Before I started studying in college, my parents told me to always attend my classes and to never cut class for unnecessary things because college is very different from high school. Professors are different from high school teachers in terms of attendance and punctuality. You can not attend classes in college as long as you don't fail the exams in college. So, I was very happy because I had the freedom unlike in high school. I had the chance to choose if I will attend classes or not. I had bigger allowances to spend on food and other miscellaneous things. Unfortunately, not attending my classes led to the failure of my subjects in my previous school. So, I hope that my fate in FEU will be different than my previous school.

My personal experience about Plato's "Allegory of the Cave" is that when I was still young, I'm one of the outstanding pupils since nursery 'til grade two. Then, from grade 3 until today I didn't had a chance to have that "outstanding pupil award" because I thought that "that" award was nothing because I am the last one to be called every recognition day. With that thought, I didn't study hard and just mingled with my classmates and didn't bother to aim high grades in my subjects ever again. As time passed by, as I learned what things around me really meant, I realized that the outstanding pupil award is equivalent to the top 10 of the batch. I now regret that I didn't think of that earlier and missed the chances of being one of the best student.. :( :))

My personal experience on Plato's Allegory of the Cave was when I transferred here in Quezon City to study for my tertiary level of education. As a new member of this society it is hard for me to adjust for the environment and its culture is because I'm from Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, I am a “probinsyano”; my perception of life in the province was different from this new society. My life, cultures and traditions were only tangled up in my hometown. My relatives help me to adjust in this new phase of life. Life is a trial and error that in some point you can change your perception in life, it's like the song of Parokya ni Edgar titled Akala. Whenever I go out I always ask first my brother or a cousin "what jeep could I ride to go here... There...?" As I started going to school, it is hard to talk with someone you didn't know because of some word that they didn't even encounter but still new friends were met and new places were visited. And as the days passed by I even can talk to a stranger.

It was after my graduation day in grade six when my allegory of the cave happens, I was then a simple guy who has a big dream, and that is to become an architect. My friends and I were actually planning on where we are going to study in high school, and then we agreed on one plan, to study in a public high school, near the school where we graduated. and then a week after, my brother told me that he is planning to enroll me in one of the most reputable school near in our town, but then I disagreed because I know to myself that I’m not smart and I’m afraid that other wealthy students might discriminate me, but then my brother became angry at me telling me that I should believe in myself and focus on my studies, and never mind what others say. After that incident I realized that my brother was correct, so I decided to enroll. And the day of class started, I was very nervous that time, because I don’t have friends and all of my classmates were know each other because they study there for a long time. I was actually in the last section that time, I saw some students in the pilot section and they were actually very smart and very participative in class, and then I told to myself, that one day, I will be part of that class. But in order to pursue that dream, I should study hard and proved to my classmates who don’t believe in my ability and who are discriminating me, that I can’t reach my dream with flying colors. While the years passed by, my section became higher and higher, until I reached my goal, to graduate in a pilot section. I can’t explain the happiness that I feel, all my hard work and sacrifices are all worth it. I know that It wasn’t my intelligence who put me to the top but my perseverance and the grace of GOD.
I’ve learned that sometimes our first contender on reaching our dreams is ourselves, because we don’t believe in our capacity, we immediately judged ourselves even without trying or pushing ourselves to the edge. We should believe on ourselves in order for others to believe on us.

My personal experience of Plato's allegory of the cave: I remembered my third term of my first year in college. My parents always told me to study hard cause I'm taking an engineering course. But I was not that serious in my studies. Together with my other classmates, we always cut classes and sometimes we don't attend our subjects on that day and instead we just play dota the whole day. That made me more addicted in playing computer games. After our midterms we got a failing grade and that time I said to myself I should change and be more serious in my studies. It was the final grading but I didn't reach the passing grade and I failed two subjects. I realized that I shouldn't do those crazy stuffs and after what happened I lessened my time playing dota and I stop cutting classes. If only I listened to my parents i could not receive those failing grade. After that I become more serious in my studies.

When I was already studying in my first year college, and I think it’s my second semester in East-Asia, FEU Morayta? It was the time I was experienced looks a like about Plato's "Allegory of the Cave" which a lil bit of this wedged me most. At first, before I’m about to leave my first semester I wish for a worthy friends in my next semester that is suit and easy for me to accompany with, compare with currently stage (don’t have time to tell my discernments I had with my previous classmates) . And now, as the time goes by living through with my new pals, I have a thought that they’r gonna be the last group that I would ever spent in my whole college life with because of having the same desire or even inclinations when it comes to computer related activities. (as in)  There are always instances that I and my block mates have had a moment of playing “DotA” and we're depending whom of them supposed to mingle with after that session. Hence, I felt the enjoyment once we’ll do the same them but I have a feeling it doesn’t really show lot of my proficiencies who really I am? That’s why I decided to change my specialization/ course to find what surely matters about me. Consequently, my life became full of awkwardness as the opposite of my literal life recently; however, in real scenario it undoubtedly happens. At the end of the day, i realized now what your former friends can truly contributes you, and the problem is, the individual itself that you should accept personalities according through their living, since they coped what interest things you can possibly do.

My personal experience about this kind of plato's psychological test happened back when i was in my high school life.that day for the first time me and my close friend, we're decided to cut our next class just because we're going to someplace to enjoy we played "billiard" just for fun and after the next day we did it again 'til we're not going to attend our class for the whole day. for some reason i realized that we need to go back to school and study harder cause the finals (exam) is coming.
oh thank god! after the finals i went to our school to get my card and i'm shock when i saw my grades " my goodness" almost reach the failing grade. but i'm happy because to all those wrong turn i've been done i'm so lucky cause even if my grade not so good i passed it..and also all my friends we're the same grade's...so god is fair..always...!thanks!
